Keeper Of Fear

Her eyes burned open and numb,
Her compassion un-waivered and dumb.
Losing her mind into the sun,
Her colors run undone.
She’s lost herself again in the tree-line,
As she pretends all’s fine.
Losing herself again into sun’s fire,
While her heart slips under the murky mire.
Her strongholds choking her faith of old,
Loosening her white-knuckled hold.
She falls through the cracks of time and space,
While her beauty is distorted and contorted upon her face.
Where is the girl she knew,
Long ago away she flew.
She lives alone in another’s mind,
No pieces of her left to find.
The stars have lost their luster to her eyes,
To dreams and hopes she has said her “Goodbyes”.
With one lonesome grain of faith in her hand,
She struggles to make her stand.
She awaits another shooting star to fill her heart again,
Until then she’ll remain keeper of her fear and sin.
