On My Own

I walk a lonely road,
I carry a burdened load.
Sin a plenty to fill my bag,
Up this mountain I lag.
No one to hear my heart,
Buzzards to tear me apart.
I wander on,
My Oasis gone.
A lost gypsy cursed at and hated,
My intentions always debated.
Words tear at my flesh,
Over wounds already fresh.
Lonely and lost for friends,
I know not where this road ends.
Words are just an illusion,
Brought on by delusion.
I thought I saw it all so clearly,
But I paid for my bid dearly.
Never assume you know another person’s heart,
Their most important part.
So I walk alone,
All of my dreams have flown.
I move on because it is written,
But maybe I’ll stop awhile and do some sittin’.
