The Red Eye

Dusk it was
And the sky vermillion; I spy the red eye
Dropping behind the nebulous blue hills

I walked along
The unspoiled ivory beach, mind troubled
The brisk twilight breeze giving me chills

The last few days
Alone in this island specially challenging
Wishing the loneliness will soon dissipate

In silhouette
Against the red eye in the sky, I see you
Goodbye sadness, happiness we’ll recreate

For my world
Empty without you, cheerless and overcast
Heavyhearted days, nights with no slumber

With you coming
Mornings bright sun, cheerful and full of zest
Nights starlit, clear, no lightning nor thunder
