One Frosty Morning

The frost on the trees

Glittering in the morning light

A shroud of purest white

Lies upon the field

A blanket with the waves of a sea

The stars of a faraway galaxy

The teeth of a menacing beast

And frost on the trees

Flashing all about like a dragon’s hoard

Under the cool, crisp light of the sun

Filtering through the frosty trees

And upon this field of white

Stars orbiting

A branching universe

Of scintillating light

A sparkling world, interspersed with icy pillars

And upon every branch

Shines a billion brilliant galaxies

The frost on the trees

Glittering in the morning light

The crystal teeth

Baring a half-grimace in the biting wind

Hanging precariously over the calm sea below

The waves of liquid diamond

That lie upon the ground

Formed by the chill morning wind

Make an ocean out of a snow mound

Make a ferocious grimace out of some icicles

Make a blanket out of a patch of snow

Make an entire galaxy out of a dash of frost on a branch

And a poem out of Winter.
