I stole a glance at my reflection,
As I passed the mirror on my way to the bedroom.
I liked what I saw glaring back at me.
I caught a glimpse of my soul,
As I fell dismally, all the way down to the bottom.
I was terrified by what I saw, glaring back at me.
I could stand the ugly blemish on my skin,
But I loathed the tiny black spot on my spirit.
So I tried to wash it off with bitter liquids,
And the oozing of my blood from a slit on my arm.
But, I could never save my own soul.
So I cried, I called and I tried, till my tears dried,
And I lost my voice and my Self.
Only then did redemption find me.
