Irreversible Past

I saw you there on the first day
Hand in hand with another girl
Her long black hair curling round your shoulder
Whilst I stood motionless in awe
At your eyes looking back at mine
Yet I did not know your name
Only rumors of the whisper
But I longed to know so much more.

On the second day you were next to me
The other girl gone without a trace
So sudden but inevitable
I accepted it without a thought
You were mine
My first real love
But still you taught me more.

On the third day you stole me away
My once sealed away body had become yours
Stolen my heart along with my virginity
I was willingly yours
Without a doubt I knew I’d do anything for you
You taught me what love was.

On the fourth day you told me
Your past was broken as was your mind
So many problems that held you down
Your heart was beaten
Your brain battered with illness
All hidden by that sly endearing smirk
You taught me how to worry.

On the fifth day you broke me
You raised your voice and raised your hand
I flinched as the pain cracked against my cheek
You showed no remorse
Left to go home without a trace
You taught me how to fear.

On the sixth day I was alone again
Left with the shattered pieces of my heart
With the bruises on my legs
And the cuts on my arms
Though you had left my life
Your vision haunts my every breath
There is no escape from your torture
You taught me how to hate myself.
