Point A-B

Staring at your face with needing eyes
I’m fixated on thought of your hand in mine
I can feel your breath on my neck
Your fingertips at my spine
Longing to have you close
Wishing to hear your heart against my ear
To fall into your arms
Then finally you’re here
No longer are you a thought or a wish
You’re real and mine
I take those few paces towards you
With a touch so gentle
I lose myself in your eyes
We’re willingly trapped in a perfect bubble
No need to escape this haven
I now wish for time to stop here
So that I never have to watch you leave
I never have to stand alone without you beside me
It hurts to say goodbye
But I know that you’ll be back
And our future is certain
In the mean time I’ll imagine that you’re here again
