I remember....

I remember......
Waking that morning, the sun blinded my eyes. Quiet and still, I peeled the sleep from my vision.
Alone, I turned to find a sight that would change me forever......wide awake I began to cry.
I had thought that maybe I were dreaming, believing that this couldn’t be real. I sat glued to the television and the reality was a nightmare that ensued.
Screams and tears of horror and smoke enveloped the sky. Fire and sirens lit as America asked repeatedly, why?
Thousands on foot, walking away from that Hell brought to our soil by the most evil of men. Claiming their hatred and using their God as reasons for their spiteful end.
America lost so many great souls, mothers, fathers......sisters, brothers.....dear friends. Yet, regained something from these tragic means as we did sift through and rebuild again.
Our brave police and fire personnel from all over this land came together for those in need. Our neighbors and strangers put aside all prejudice and helped, thus planting this seed:
Lest we forget all who were lost, nor forsake those who gave all that they could. Whether here on our soil on that nightmarish day where those two great towers once stood......or abroad where our heroes fight, even today, for the freedoms of us all. Let’s make every day a remembrance of the sacrifice made and as our Lady Liberty, may we ALL stand tall.
