Sell Yourself Short

Tranquil as the night, I gazed outwards.
Quiet,
Content....No

Disappointed.

The symphony of the night played
As I sat and sooth-sayed.
My future, my past.
Narrow looking through a looking glass.
My present, my pain.
I am expectin’ the rain...

My attention shifts back to the night.
The Mites
All around me,
Human beings confound me

Motivation remains refrained,
He strolls passed the morning 'of’.
Waving gently
He says “Bye”
Smiling when it’s too late in the evening to try.
He says “Hi”

As He walks on without me.
I sit defiant, he can do as he please.
But wait!
He turns and shouts
“Listen to the words as I say them.
The last ”veni vidi vici" by
Leonardo Da Vinci.

'I have offended God
and Mankind, for my work has not reached the quality it should’ve’

Could’ve,

Would’ve"

The Quintessence
of Renaissance essence,
He squandered his gifts.
His works so light
You can’t even say that he lifts.

The words of Weeks stand before me
“Worse than useless, a waste”
High standards do themselves debase.
Finding that anger up-rise.
My need to defend
It’s no surprise,
An argument with no end.

Perhaps it’s too early to say
That I’ve wasted my way.
Carpe Diem, Seize The Day.
But where’s the use in what THEY all say.

Because we’re all unique, yet ain’t it ironic.
Iconoclastic iconic
We’re the icons of our time
That faded from younger minds.
Future generations rebel.
We sell our minds to ourselves

and Yet?
I find MY Self with too much change...

(2015)

I am moderately happy with this one. It turned out a bit sporadic in theme, but I think it holds a couple truths.

Again, I wish I could read you my poems. Because it's really hard to get their rhythm just by text alone.
So actually on that note, if you have any notes on how to format poems in order to maximize surface level rhythm(I.E:How one would natuarally read the poen). That'd be awesome!
Again any feedback is appreciated
