Wolf In Arms

You have my heart in the palm of your hand
do you feel it
the warmth,
light, steady
pulsating beat
gentle
please, I beg you
gentle
do not squeeze
shredded and torn from wolves before
it hauntingly oozes pain and sadness
freshly pieced and stitched together
I’m afraid that it will fade with every arrhythmic beat
one more wolf to the pack and it may end all
will you be the one who stands at watch
to guard and protect what once was ravaged and torn
will you cut the heads of the wolves before and mount them to the wall
and hold my heart with your watchful hands encasing it with love unyielding
or will you be another dressed wolf in arms
one whom will end it all
do you feel it
do you see
the stitches
the shredded scarring
the pieces missing
gentle
please
I beg you
be gentle with my heart

(2013)

This is another piece I've been working on which, I'm not quite done refining it.
