authority problem

root it out
the tiny bit left that says
someone’s in charge
not you.

don’t let it live
another day, a need
you don’t have,
couldn’t, and even
if you did, wouldn’t ever
be met by evil intent
on breaking
the heart of the world
to drink its pain
like wine.

these they are, always,
who we look to only
as they got themselves
between us and everything
else. stand still, look
right through them
at the thing
underneath.

it can never be
your master. it’s less
than nothing.
how it has us
thinking otherwise
is the only problem
in the world.

root it out.
