For You

A tiny rose would die for you,
Unfurl it’s leaves and smile for you,
A sailor traveling, lost at sea
Would find land and found a colony,
And name it after you.

A silent note would shout it’s song for you,
Grow bold and crescendo for you,
A gallant knight who charged down sin
Would ride away for the jewels of Saladin,
And the name on his lips would be you.

A woman would endure for you,
Time and pleasure set aside for you,
Never another home, than the one you would build,
Never another life, than the one you had filled,
And I would pick my tiny rose

For you.
