The magic box poem

I will put in the box
A dragon, a dragon with scales made of ruby and teeth made of pearls.
A blue dolphin jumping high over the blue, glistening ocean.
The last far-fetched tale of a weary grandad.

I will put in the box
The spirits of trees combing their long, beautiful hair.
The black eyelash from the first ever dinosaur.
The scent of red, ruby roses.

I will put in the box
A favourite star twinkling at night.
A wizard with an eyepatch and a pirate with a cauldron.

My box is fashioned from white-hot lava from an erupting volcano
with stars brought down from the sky by spirits.
It’s hinges are the teeth of dragons.

I will fly in my box
In the great, blue, never-ending sky
Then float and hover on a puffy cloud
The colour of sunrise.
