this is a sad storry of jealousy between neighbours who are supposedly to be friends.the one who is speaking had everything that the neighbour wished for, they come a long way as friends and even shared dreams together but life got too many turns.the other one did not make it while the other worked so hard to get where he is.he always loved his friend and he also did not show any signs of hate. while things were going well for him his friend was always there.
oh come near me' even at this point he still sees him as a friend but what happened here is very misfortunate,the friend betrayed (stab) his friend because he felt that he is living in his shadow .He is sorry that his friend felt useless because of him"I have sworn not to scorn.He is telling his friend that he understands" I've decided not to stare"
His friend is cut by what he did but he felt like for him to have a bright future his friend must be removed.He feels ashamed by his behaviour but doesnt back down from the fact that he must go
"Oh what shall i fear, your armour, your sword in my eyes"He can see the pain in his eyes of stabbing him because now his eyes are full of tears, breaking down and puting the knife down looking at the blood in his hands.he thinks to him that if he still breathes his friend knows will never be happy because he is the one who alwys wins.
He feels bad that his friend has to feel like this way as if he is the enermy.He does not want him to apologize for doing this to him but makes a promise that he will give his friend the freedom that he is longing for.
