You & Me

2016

Trust me, o angel of mine.
Allow your delicious and weighty body to sink into mine,
A privilege divine, and to be in union with that of thine
Until, of age, I’m nineteen, forty-two, and seventy-nine.
I entreat you... fall deeply in love with line after line,
With the two black, glistening stars which shine
Between my long nose, yes, mine
Which draws in the aroma of the ambrosia on which we dine
And with my lips, your lifeline,
Which savor the smooth taste of some sweet, dark Spanish wine.

I am yours for the rest of time. Hence, take ownership of me.
Still, we are young. Please Pleasetreasure me for an infinity.
Love, I’ll sit here in patience while you acquire your master’s degree
And, as one, we’ll conspire to build our empire, for me and my governor-to-be.
For tonight, though, we need only to sit by the sea, drink Earl Grey tea, and agree.
On you and me. For grey turns to gold in your company,
And my cheeks, a shade of pink in light of your flattery.
By the sea, whose shore lines our beautiful “Home,” let us sit and rest, free.
Let us love one another passionately and without apology.
For, together, we can simply be. You and me.
