I Wouldn’t Have Before We Met

‘How could I dare to speak your name’
When you would never dare to look my way
You’re silent when I had so many things to say
Do we pretend all those days, we were lead roles in a play

I’m center stage in this tragedy
Our show ends with you standing above me
I’m prostrate on the floor, struggling for air
With my heart in your hand, your mind without a care

Was my existence erased from your mind
You looked to our future said there was 'nothing’ to find
It wasn’t our fault but wish we could have tried
You made it clear already what you would decide

Everyone’s got an explanation
For the purpose of the burning sun
My theory is to keep you breathing
Because you make all the pain undone
