Two men
Met and drank beer

Like Lennie and George
One tall
And one short

Life was shared between the two
Because
What is life if not lived in community

Much that was shared, was murky
Like the beer they drank
Dark

But if we
Utilize the gift of community
That God gave us

Then a small but powerful flame
Can be seen
Amidst the darkness
Of every day life

Like the temple
Life can be
Made new

As life stretches
People age
And wisdom is gained
And new life is possessed

Life can only be
Experienced to the full
When you let go
And say that by myself I cannot

But with You I can

I got together with a buddy of mine and drank beer, and there was something about that short and very vulnerable time that allowed me to experience the love of God.

Beer, man, God
