Years have gone by.
Yet the thought of you makes my soul cry.
Just that one glance of.your eyes.
Makes my knees weak and my heart cries.
The way your lips purse when you smile.
Draws me to you but makes me want to run a mile .
Just looking into your face.
Takes me back into another place.
You still enchant me.
You still make me feel alive and free.
So many years have gone by.
But my mind still wonders why.
A connection that we cannot ignore.
Unforgotten hurt that made us so heart sore.
A beautiful love once shared with you.
A love we felt ever so sureal and true.
The one that got away.
The one I always dreamt would stay.
Now we sit here as past lovers wanting to explore.
Explore what we neglected and never understood before.
Once completely in love and in bliss.
But now burdened by all that we miss.
I can’t look at you and not feel it’s our fate.
I cannot believe we will ever leave what’s meant to be to late.
