Just because you see me smiling
Does not mean my life is great
Like a book, please don’t judge me by the cover
I have been through hell and still facing it to this day
No one will ever know and feel my pain
Only me, myself and I

There have been times where I felt like giving up
But Jehovah held my hands
And say he’s going to remove me from the battle
That continues to bombard my mind
So if you see me smiling
It’s my way of feeling good though I’m not

Smiling keeps me completely sane
It blocks all my problems away for the moment
Furthermore, it eases all the heavy load on my heart
And that’s what really matters to me the most
Because somehow I can feel a little freedom.

Don't be fooled by a smile
Some people uses it to hide their pain
Just like myself.
