Before and After

I see you, curbside, sitting in the rain
Making wishes long lost and age washed
still clinging to a derelict dream
Know that you will save it, and clean it up
Every score, every abuse, every lost hope
these fractures with your hands will be repaired

We are the Ever, the energy in flight
bolting through the Door
I can feel it rattling each joint
like an angry tectonic plate
Sound the Alarm!
If we are prepared, we will shed this skin unscathed
and grab hold the beckoning Light
