Jinx

She told me not to say it, that tomorrow never comes
So I’ve addressed it here in writing
After having slipped my tongue
She seemed to listen for a moment
If only, to make it clear
That what was said in that moment
Is a thing she ought not hear
She told me not to, but I said it
“Tomorrow never comes!”
And in that moment I knew nightfall
And the curse it had become
