This is Everything
Now is the time to let go.
For so long I have been selfish.
Rarely attending to anyone,
other than myself and my son.
If you don’t take care of yourself,
you cant take care of another.
So eagerly I took the role of Father,
and Mother.
I have recently tried different.
After ten years, ten precious years.
And no matter how strange it feels;
holding on to a selfish pride,
I must hold out.
For I have a new Bride,
with children of her own;
other children,
that I wish to make mine as well.
And doing so makes a different,
a very different, kind of prideful swell.
They call it a blended family.
A blended family?
I call it a blended everything.
It is a blending of everything.
This blend, is Everything.
