Just Breathe

A Love Poem

I’ve seen others strive to keep things exciting.
To create an up when things felt declining.
Wise we are to note others’ rocks where they stumble.
and see not the need to make things crumble
for just a bit of news for mouths to mumble.

This is not us.
We don’t need to create a fuss.
We don’t need to do much
to remind us of love.
With no force of the arm does one throw a dove.
Love has most flight when allowed to just be,
Though some might not have the patience to breathe.

So, for this I am grateful.
This air that’s invisible.
It’s all in a moment, infinitely gone and renewed.
It has no color or shape to be viewed.
There is no word
for a thing unheard.
There is no idea to be thought,
The challenge the words in this poem has brought.

In this moment, relax.
As we wane, we wax.
I’m grateful for everything in our path...
The splashing of love, we soak in the bath.

For you to have my love...
It’s not possible to push and heave.
It’s not a task that you can ever achieve.
In this moment, relax.
More than ever, perhaps.
In this moment, receive.
Here is my love to breathe.
