Consumed

J Ann Crowder

A mid-summer day presents it’s fire-eyed touch preluding hot, dappled skin and beads of sweat drawing lines down my inner thighs

June bugs hum a sultry sound, as prickly pear fruits ripen a royal red, thus desired of hearts’ quickening with lust and love-lost in seas of romantic combustion and desires

Awakened are bold and ignite-ly colors enamored in our longing eyes’ sharpened edges

A summer’s green brightened by a nectar’s germinated delectables swelling with sweet, dulcet juices—tongue raptured and tantalized senses

Turned burgundy wine, with hot reflections as love sunk passions collide

Beneath cotton on pillowed bed silks

A welcomed coolness sooths body

Wandering hands touch, igniting soul-songs and thunder beings

His warm presses of lips move withal a paradise of senses striking my cords thus enlivened—leaving  his mark, over and over again

Consuming the very flesh of me
