Dawning Star

By J Ann Crowder

I long to see a Genesis of soul
To gaze upon mega cosmos beyond
I’d reach for stars upon bright, dawning knolls
Alive, verdantly, spun with golden frond

My heart weeps heavy, heaving light of glens
Each morsel, ashen stones re-composing
From death to sky, drawn by God’s magic pen
Delights in Opus—young germinating

He sings a garden, a graceful being
An art’s oasis, I truthfully sought
I, adrift upon peaceful knolls, screaming
I, sifting beneath dark matter, fraught

I, stumble upon mine own rudiment
Unveiling day springs of grandest composement

A sonnet. Written December 1st, 2016. This is a soul recreating to a better sense of self worth. He or she is God's design. I believe we are part of God's design, art; he composed us and the Earth. We are his Opus.
