Fading Muse

By J Ann Crowder

Dear, exemplifier—nature’s wonder
Trellises hewn by a Bard’s colloquy
Colored in pearls and light’s infinity
Enamored by stardust—magic thunder

Forgotten tales’ spun charm, set asunder
Fading, choired Fey—a magic worldly
Gone, GONE!—spellbinding ruins thus ghostly
A fading Muse and convulsive shudder

At last, unshackled by wanton dreams’ hearts
Loosed in full play, dancing with indulgence
Riotous souls—wild wishes grappling stars

Unearthed courage dressed in thyme—truth imparts
Releasing passions of luminescence
Freeing nature’s truth—Utopian art

Describes the plight of an artist. The fading muse, or lost inspiration, sometimes dormant. We find the fading muse and write, paint, create. This is my first attemp at a Sonnet. Written July 12th, 2016.
