How Do I Love Myself?

By J Ann Crowder

How do I love myself?

I find myself—bleeding heart and rifting pain loosening my soul from it’s body

I sing to my heart, yearning to stop her blood from escaping

Torn—I long to mend her broken skin

I long to stitch my soul back into it’s body; tightly, with unbreaking thread

How do I love myself?

If I get close enough to my soul, it whispers—"Like you love rippling lakes, turning rivers, and dancing waves touched by magic, purple dusk”

“LOVE yourself like you love earth’s sacred tapestry and her saltry savor,” my soul gently chides

“Love yourself like you love Mother Nature’s milky air, her rising dawns on quiet horizons, and her colors sashaying buoyantly across her ever weaving, blanketed masterpiece”

THEN

My soul kisses me, as an eternal sun kisses treetops reaching for infinite eons of celestial cosmos
