By J Ann Crowder

Seeing true an otherworldly
Watchful eyes—peering oracle
An unblinking methodical

Nigh—dusk awakens night’s kingly
Tending ruler of eventide
Soft, deepening secrets abide

Keeper of vision's clarity
Quickens upon discerning sight
Powerful, sageless, quiet fright

Keen to silent illusory
Speaking with wind, moon, tree,             and sky
Language single to nature’s eye

Perched, poised, silent solidity
Holy nocturnal bird of prey
With fierce, crushing power he             slays

My first try at a constanza. Written July 29th, 2016.

Great. Your first try at constanza graduated all the way from kindergarten up into the PHD range in one swoop.

Hhhhhmmm... another poetic format. It flows quite well and it has a secondary poem to boot.

Nice poem Jenifer. Recently, you taught me the word petrichor, and now constanza. Never too old to learn a new thing!

You know what even George will like this I'm sure. :)

The lord king of the night-keen to illusion and poised to kill!
Like the primordial powerful goddess of night feared by other immortal deities!
Love this one. And the format, easy flow and carried through
fluidly. Sweet dual poem treat. Thank you, Jenifer. I'll follow your lead.

Thank you Nelson! And yes, you are more than welcome to follow the challenge and write a style of poetry you haven't yet tried.

For trying something new out, I'd say you have a firm grasp on it. I love the words you use.

Very nice... constanza wow! So the first line of each stanza is a poem in itself. Awesome...

I tried my best, this is a first. Yes, the first lines are supposed to be a poem on its own. I'v challenged myself to try different types of poetry. I mostly write freestyle so I'm moving out of my comfort zone. Thanks for reading! Your comments are much appreciated!
