Sleepless, I am
As a breathless, stainless night taps to the rhythm of my clock's shapeless rocking, tick-tocking—he hangs on my stiff, pale wall
Noises of my house awaken
My pillow is a rock beneath my restless head
Dreams awaite me, sifting through dark’s oasis of fleeting stars
A moon rests his round chin upon my windowsill
A night owl, perched upon his shadowed kingdom, sings an echoing hoot
Sky’s celestial slumber gazes down upon nature's floor with a quiet reverence—Her eyes are earth's night lights glowing and gleaming with luster
A gallant wind causes a faint, gentle rapping at my door
Night creatures scurry amongst long-necked trees dropping bronzy, stale leaflets
Though I long for sleep, I bask in the art unhinged by a sun’s temporary disappearance
