Tīgras

By J Ann Crowder

Drawn with a burnished ink—a Tiger Lily's art arising behind a swarthy, graphite night

An illuminating spirit of élan elegance, like palaces of argent kings

An agile grace unseen in cloaking forests

A quiet gallop of balletic grace

His eyes like lanterns in sanguine seas

His eyes auric and honeyed as brightest stars beaming a chatoyant glare

His gallant, regal beauty connects to my inner visions

His bold rufulgences ever spawning from impetuous, red heat

He lives beneath a chromed Malay Pinnacle

He lives upon an equatorial juncture of a canicular season

His lusty coat burns of new moons born on unfurled dragon wings of Summer’s charring fire dappled in stripes of cindered coal

Panthera Tīgras, slinkering in depths of menacing jungles of asiatic princedom, dripping in silvery rain

He finds his solace in rushing fortitudes of silent protections glittering, cradled by earth’s nestled sphere
