We had a first, nervous encounter in the early autumn;
Shared nervous laughter,
Were nervous wishing each other goodbye.
Our second encounter was late that autumn;
It was freezing,
But your smile was warm.
It was only one more day until our third encounter;
That was long enough,
We shared our first kiss.
The longest week of my life was the one before our fourth encounter;
Our first time alone,
We drank milkshakes.
We’ve had many encounters since the fourth;
Some were wonderful,
Some were not.
There is one thing about which I am sure, regarding our encounters;
I hope they continue,
As I love them,
And you.
