Look Back

My fingers trace the figures in my life
Fumbling to fill between the lines
Working free the fetters of my mind
Those who fought before me left a sign

I see all the writing on the walls
As I wander deeper down the halls
Traipsing toward a voice that faintly calls
Part of me must push to make me stall

I turn to face the man I am inside
The person that I cannot stand to hide
Reflection serves to break me from my stride
Looking back to find the life that could be mine
