I feel like a king
cushioned from
springs that used
to stab at me
I was movin’ on up
an affordable gain
no matter the last sleepers stains
my tightness loosened
I had the green that they asked
I loaded it into my van
to sleep off the sad
with the day closing in
she loaded my hand
with the cash stack
she gifted a twin
she bettered the trend
she gave me a hug and whispered
“I didn’t always have home”
It gave me confidence
that one day I could do the same
for now Im just a day to day
kind of king
