Chemistry
Hand presses hand,
Chains of carbon courting
Through nuclear repellence,
Processing synaptic lightning:
synthesised ecstasy flickers wildly.
Forces dance in Union,
And the blood flows faster,
The heart races, eyes dilate,
'All the better to see you with, my dear’.
The inextinguishable smile;
and then the light laugh,
and the sheer bounding happiness
of a complex carbon collection,
pleasing another for the sake of
a few vibrations through the air.
The chemical and physical,
Quantum and Cosmic,
Love in all forms, is beautiful still.
