Death of a Poet

The suicidal impetus of genius
Swift
Disastrous
Morbidly shy
A sensitive independence
My disease weakens me more
On the muddy outskirts of life
At the very moment of his death
He did not know he was dying
A cough a rattle
Discussing poetry without pretentiousness or constraint
Until 5 in the morning
Ideas are definite and important things
Art must be protected against the world
An affected modesty
A natural pose
Half pride half self-mistrust
Very delicate and most distinguished
Bright shadows seen through floating gauze
A pathetic charm
A demoralized face
A dilapidated appearance
The poet of the disembodied verses
A vagabond poet
A decadent poet
Never quite comfortable
Never quite myself
Readier means of oblivion
Awaiting the magic
Immoderate laughter
In search of new sensations
Escaping all ideals
A supreme detonation
Cherished only in the abstract
I was never of their opinion
We really only see clearly for a few moments
The most exquisite and appropriate impossibility
A shy and eager devotion
It made and killed a poet
A weedy garden
Luminous with lilies.
