anyone can fall from grace

UK homeless crisis

don’t stare at them like clowns
with a blank face
or kick a person when their down
anyone can fall from grace

It’s a light that in time
goes dim like the sky
in autumnal months
when summer has died

you have no money
and with no family to turn
bad luck aint funny
and loneliness burns

You find yourself
in a cold dark place
and on the streets
anyone can fall from grace

the problem with homelessness
is the people with homes
who think they’re more
than flesh covered bones

They think themselves free
of the perils of time,
the folly of greed
or the allure of crime

karma is fiction
to the reality we face
trust in each other
anyone can call from grace
