A Blank Moment

The other day I fell lifeless to the ground,
Emptiness and darkness was all around.
Nothing came to mind and nothing I could see.
Instantly I became blind,
No future, no history,
Nothing to hold me back,
Nothing to leave behind
Then a burst of light I felt inside,
Fire from within,
Reality though gone came back again,
The emptiness began to subside.
Life came back to me a new.
Though momentarily lifeless I lay,
No meaningful thoughts passed me by,
My limbs I could not feel,
All control of my body was gone
As I lay there still
Emptiness was my will
No emotion or regret,
Nothing forced me to be upset.
What is death and how does it apply?
Is it a pain filled moment,
Or a silent passing by,
Is the mind willful and requesting?
Do answers quickly come?
Is there a reason provided to the question why?
Though a narrow path lies ahead,
That path from life to death,
No clarity exists and clouds hide its nature.
Left behind is the blank moment in time,
Continued confusion still of what I shall become,
When my last day on earth is done.

Suffering from the desease of diabetes can be quite complicated and especially without the ability to purchase the needed medicines, such was this time in which I felt so helpless. Much better now.
