landscapes and anxiety

I am claustrophobic,
mountains are liberating,
of my humble human anxiety.
Bodies of water seem provocative,
with their two-dimensional facade,
projecting erasure below,
and monotony at the surface,
reflecting endless simplicity,
instead evoking calmness,
a break from the eruptions,
and domination of earthly reality,
with their imposing rigid structures,
even irrational and broken.
Then it seems as though
mountains should provoke
a humble human anxiety,
with their imposition
of irrational structures,
but neither do,
neither mountains,
nor bodies of water,
instead both are escape,
from the monotony
that lies in between everything.
