the void cannot take life

You think it’s fear you’re drawing out,
but continue to relentlessly corner me,
and you’ll realize fear was a guarded defense,
a mask seeking to deceive,
a prelude to the seething energy of my core.
I have the impulsive drive necessary
to counter your inevitable design.
You can’t hold hostage any of my ideals.
You have only clung to life’s last desperation.
Beware of the rage,
as you besiege me in the dark.
your vision cannot adapt
from nothing to power–
non-interchangeable characteristics.
you spend all your expanse in a void.
It will be too late when my impetuous grit
splits a chasm in your nothingness.
you won’t see it because
you can’t look at your victims.
you don’t expect a struggle,
just a soul having crumbled,
lost to the agony, helpless without hope,
adding nothing to your endlessness.
But have you not yet learned who I am?
I am who survives it all.
And in life I will never succumb.
I will never let you take now
what you will never be able to find
when I cease to exist.
