Life situation

I’m wipin’ down these tables asking myself, why I feel so disabled. A woman knocks at the door, my aunties in the kitchen cookin’, I told her someone’s knockin’ at the door, she says answer it.
I go to answer the door it’s a lady all dressed up lookin’ like an agent. She begins to walk in sayin’ wow this place isn’t stable.
I begin’ to go back to wipin’ down the tables askin’ myself is this place really not stable? I look around the place and begin’ to notice that there are 6 kids doin’ their chores, and that my auntie is in the kitchen cookin’ a nice meal for the kids.
I look at the lady and start beginin’ to wonder why she’s here… she’s talkin’ to my auntie, and my auntie starts to cry as the lady walks out the door.
I asked my auntie why you cryin’ auntie? Cuz mija CPS wants to take the kids away from me, cuz this place isn’t “stable”…I said don’t worry auntie this place is stable, and they won’t take the kids away from you.
Remember my daddy’s place in Hermiston? Now that wasn’t stable, and they tried takin’ me away but they didn’t …. you know why? Cuz you were there for me. I know it was in a different state but still. You brought me into your life and home, and this place is stable.
If you didn’t do that, I would be livin’ with strangas actin’ up and I would be an alcoholic like my daddy and an addict like my mama. But you know what? I ain’t look at me, I am here in a stable home goin’ to school getting’ my education!
So don’t you worry auntie this place is stable and they will leave you alone, they won’t come back, I hug her and say I love you auntie. I go back to wipin’ down the tables and stop and realize that I ain’t disabled cuz this place is stable.
