Autumn

There’s a rain cloud in my chest, and it’s beginning to storm inside my lungs. Theres lightning in my veins and thunder playing its song below my paper skin. The bitter taste of autumn is beginning to form beneath my tongue, where I’ve kept hidden all the words I never said to you. Darling the leaves will soon fall, and cover up the beautiful grass, suffocating the flowers. I’ve tried so hard not to notice, but it’s becoming as impossible to forget as you were. There’s wind in my hair and the sun on my cheeks is fading as my pen runs out of life. So I will say but a few more words before I leave you to be on your own. I miss you. I miss you. I miss you.
