Fragile

You tried to change, I saw it in the way you folded your arms across your delicate chest, as if trying to hide even your ribcage. You swallowed the clouds and carved every star into your veins, In attempt to become as beautiful as she was.
You thought by covering your skin in moonlight that you could hide the night that lives in you,
But I can see it.
I can see it in the way you walk with your hands in your pockets, your soul digging inside yourself for something that isn’t there–
I can see it In the way you never finish your sentences, as if you’re trying to keep whatever words are swimming inside your chest, silent.
You tried to change,
But I can feel your every star burning against my hands whenever I touch your face,
Your stars all glistening across the lines of my palms.
Your stars are so fragile,
They’re bleeding out madness,
That’s what makes them beautiful
