Kaleidoscope hands

The colors of your breath are dripping down my back like the sky had melted all her dreams, and tried to paint them down my spine.
The feelings of the wind curl around my waist like an ocean of nostalgia;
I will hold you until my hands become strong enough
to put you down.

I found your shadow resting in between my fingers
you promised,
to stop feeling so much like home.

I sat on the edge of the earth with our last day dangling over my skinned kneecaps,
It was a warm September night as I held you close to my chest, I whispered to every ear that could not hear me;

If only I could keep myself
