Sunflower fields and pastel skys

Im laying in my crooked bed wrapped in layers of vintage blankets, autumn has kissed my face and the moon rests upon my closed eyelids. Dreams are settling in to the world that spins inside me as i sleep. I dream of running through fields of sunflowers as big as the sun, I dream of dancing below a pastel sky, the stars jumping down to dance beside me. I woke in the middle of October, the day spilling out of me as I drag these dreams across the pavement, each one painting a new world below my feet. I dreamt that one day you’ll trace the planets on my spine, and your fingertips will leave behind stardust, that will seep into my veins, connecting the beat of my heart to the air in your lungs. That one day you’ll sink into the oceans waves, so deep that only the poems I’ve written about the craters of the earth can save you. But I dreamt that you’ll wait there. That one day you’ll wait there for me. And one day I’ll be home.
