Writer
To be a writer means to trade in the person you are, to become the person you wish to be. To be a writer, means to leave behind the shell you live in, and replace your skin with sunlight. Words have been planted inside my chest, and every time they are written I become closer to the moon. There’s ink in my lungs and every time my eyes rest upon the ocean, it spills out of me like venom. Venom which I long for, venom I’ll do anything to feel inside my veins. Inside us all is a flower child, with memories and words carved into our feet. Everywhere we run we leave our words planted like flowers along the stems of the earth. But a writer is a flower child, who knows the sea by her first name. Who hears the songs the wind sings to the moon, when everyone around them is fast asleep inside the quiet of the night.
