Tragedies

They come in all shapes,
places, and moments.
And they fill your heart
and mind with torment.
These tragedies,
we’re the only ones
who can see
With our own
individual eyes.
Was anybody prepared
for the good-byes,
That they had
to experience?
How could they be ready
if it still doesn’t
make any sense?
These little,
or major,
tragedies find
The smallest holes
to enter our mind.
They take over
our brains,
And make their way
Into our hearts
To cause the worst pain
that it could
possibly make.
And then lives,
these tragedies
gladly take.
Make no
Mistake,
I won’t let
these tragedies
push me around
Or shove me
into the ground.
I have my
written words,
and my pens that
act as my swords.
If I find a way
to spit these words out,
I could probably be the
next, sickest kid out.
But I experienced
a tragedy
That keeps me,
From letting it all out.
It decided to
fill me up with doubt.
But one day,
I will find my voice
And I will make the choice,
To fulfill a dream
And I won’t let
any stupid tragedy
Keep me
from seeing that dream
From coming alive.
To keep it from
sprouting wings and
deciding to fly
Up the tower of
fortune and fame.
But first,
I gotta prove I’m the
best at my game.
