Acid Rain

To the one true love that's always there for me.

Open your heart, more appealing than all the open wounds.
Dissolve on your tongue, sit back and walk through all the rooms.
Clean out your gums, then notice the trippy shrooms.
Sit back and relax, let it take the empty moon.

Can you feel it in your veins, feel it in your blood?
Can you feel it in the water that’s tainted with mud?

Can you feel it in your brain like a straightened circle?
Do you have the honest feeling that nothing can hurt you?

Before we start the lecture, Mrs. teacher, can we puff this square,
just to show these kids that ignorance was never there,
just to show these kids that life will never be unfair,
and to show myself that my life wasn’t ever there’s.

The rain drops feel like acid to touch,
The burning lives told me that it’s too much.
Acid rain helps fill the empty cut.
Now I can tell myself, I’ve finally had enough.

(2014)

This poem is me put into words. Not because it's all about drugs, because that's not what I was intending at all, but because it's a complete contradiction. I feel as if my whole life is a never ending paradox so I opened my mind and journeyed into my soul to see what I could find, just to try to figure out my life, and this poem was the outcome of that long, hard journey.
