Among the Stars

Twinkling, dazzling, shining bright
The stars gleam down upon the night
She stares into their glowing beams
Thinking only of her dreams

They call to her
And sing to her
And tell the wind to push at her

Push her to the mighty sky
The one she wishes to and cries
The very sky that’s dark is infinite
But where the light is always definite

She flies through time and space alike
As she is carried through the night
The stars they smile as she draws near
She falls asleep with no fear

Awakened by her sudden landing
Upon the moon she now is standing
She looks out over the world below
And only now feels all alone

Her star friends have vanished and gone
And the moon has now begun to yawn
Sunshine sends her home to stay
As the earth begins another day
