The Mask

Glass tears shatter.
Plastic teeth grin.
Rubber lips frown.

Our society smiles at the glass,
The plastic, the rubber.
Fake bodies filled with a
Fake personality.
There is nothing left real.
Not in this world.
A mirror shows only the outside,
But we claim we can see
The insides of people.
How do we know who they are
When all we see is fake.
A phony covering to hide
The fear and sorrow of reality.
