Wilted Plant and Jilted Heart

Wandering through the memory lanes,
Holding tightly the tender plant in my hands,
Wrapped its roots carefully in a silver foil,
Left no chinks even for the air to enter the soil!
As I meandered through the memory maze,
Tender leaves drooped down with every passing lane,

I kept splashing water on the shoots,
But didn’t let even a drop of water percolate down the roots,
May be I was foolish that I didn’t realize the truth,
That a wilted plant would never stand upright,
When the roots are kept sealed and watertight,
Whether for a wilted plant or a jilted heart,
Healing should happen from the bottom upright,
But golden rules often manifest only in the hindsight!
